Hey all thought i would put a shout out , recently moved back to the east bay area and have been talking with a couple of friends and we all feel like it would be alot of fun to get a living foods pot luck going once a month or something,,,, if any1 is interested or knows of something like this already in affect let me know!!!!... will keep every1 posted if something starts happenin!

where can i buy truly raw almonds?

for those who don't know... almonds in the health food stores labeled raw are actually pasterized these days. A new law was passed by the USDA beginning this September. One has to buy directly from the grower for truly raw almonds. I am looking for a grower with integrity to purchase from. I found one online but did not write it down and now i can not find it again. Sunfoods is too expensive. Anyone know of a farm i can contact directly??

Going Raw For love & healing

Has anyone seen the trailer for "Raw For 30 Days"? It's a documentary about six people, who normally eat fast food, who decide to go 100% raw for a month. It features interviews with doctors, experts, and raw foodists including Gabriel Cousens, David Wolfe, and Woody Harrelson.

I am new to raw foods and very interested in hearing from others who are raw foodists and people who are trying to change their lives for the better. Many people in my family have diabetes and I have changed my diet and gone raw to prevent myself from also getting diabetes.

There is also a new two-disc DVD set that is available for order called RAW FOR LIFE, which is a encyclopedia of Raw Food, perfect for beginners like me and Raw Food enthusiasts. Can someone tell me if I`m felling this way because of that?
It`s great!!

feel whird...feling diferent than before
colors are brighter...
sensations are stronger...
auto observation is sharper...
when people is talking at the same time I just don`t want to talk...
wan`t to listen more...
senses are open...want to be touch...wan`t to toutch...
smells...
vegetables are more beautiful than ever!
and don`t want to eat anything else!

is it really too much to beg plead and ask
that she simply not wear a make-up mask ?!
her face all natural pure and clean
no toxic poison if you know what i mean
make-up is an obstruction, an intimacy block
her face must be kissed, does that come as a shock ?!
she never smoked and never will
she's gentle not violent, she doesn't kill
so she's vegan of curse, pure vegetarian
a valorous virtuous humanitarian
she's healthy & naturally hygienic as well
no domestic-animals filthy stinking hell
she lets wild animals remain free in nature
she's balanced both childlike and wisely mature
her brain is brilliant, her body is beauty
her virtue is valiant, her visage a cutie
her nose nicely shaped little feminine slope
perfectly pretty, she says "yep" not "nope"
when i suggest any smart course of action
her humble receptivity is part of her attraction

Help! Don't let them pasteurize our raw almonds!!!

Hello, fellow raw fooders,

This is an urgent message needing your immediate attention by April 30.

For me, sprouted raw almonds are a major part of my diet, so this is alarming.

The Almond Board of California has recently passed a regulation that will require ALL almonds produced in the state of California (which is effectively all almonds available in the US and Canada) to be PASTEURIZED.

This is because there were two salmonella outbreaks traced to almonds in 2001 and 2004, and they had to come up with an "action plan."

Incredibly, they will allow pasteurized almonds to be labeled as raw, which is a lie, and should be considered fraudulent.

As you know, almonds have a high oil content, so roasting, toasting, or pasteurizing them creates toxic trans-fatty acids. Of course, it also kills the enzymes and damages other nutrients.

This legislation is to go into effect in August or September of 2007, for the 2007 - 2008 almond crop. Deadline for the final phase of public comment is April 30, so there is still time for a consumer uproar, and that is the only thing that will stop it.

1) Truly raw organic almonds be available for sale, clearly labeled as "unpasteurized." (They may want to require a warning label stating that salmonella or other bacteria may be present.)
2) All pasteurized almonds be labeled as such, to allow consumers to make informed decisions about what they are ingesting.

You can also write to the California Certified Organic Farmers association, which has the power to contest this. Please write to Peggy Miars, Executive Director: peggy@ccof.org. Ask her to mobilize and protest.

I'm looking to start a raw vegan band. I play bass and am in contact with someone who plays multiple instruments and has practice space. i think emphasis on babies toddlers and children for this house b/c limited size of land. [maybe someday when hundreds acres then room for everybody.]
and becuase childless healthy adults be they single or couples can camp outdoors just fine;

raw is on the rise!
even up here in little nelson, bc, my brother and i are finding the ocasional raw friend to play with, such fun.. We were quite amazed that even at the portland living and raw foods fest this summer they didn't have it together enough to make any kind of raw pary or raw singles night or somthin, word was buzzen round but no show:(
so let's make this an interface for that, and start creatin more events like that. here at our studio space in nelson we are gonna start having raw nights, for raw fooders and those inspired by raw( ther might not be too many of us up here at first though), as well as many other raw and yoga events(check out the artofunion.tribe.net).
i don't know about everyone else but these days i am soo into keepin it raw; raw eatin, raw yoga, raw play, rawpeople, and definatly raw romance, cause ther's not enough of it in this world.
